Keeping Linthwaite Tidy grew from a previously existing litter picking group in Linthwaite and joined Pride in Linthwaite soon after its inception, becoming one of the first sub-groups.
The Group has insurance through Natural Kirklees, as well as access to equipment, storage and – most-importantly – more volunteers.
We have also grown in scope: moving from litter picks to anything that would tidy or improve the aesthetics of the local area.
We regularly organise tidy sessions and support the community by loaning equipment.
Working closely with the community, we created the “Tek yer litter ‘ome” and “Pick up tha’ poo” signs initiatives, take suggestions of areas that need improvement and were nominated as a Keeping Britain Tidy Ambassador group in 2019,
